This third entry in the Way of the Samurai series brings the samurai to the American west during the 19th century. Serving as the main character in Samurai Western is Goujirou Kiryuu. Born to a family of warriors and raised as a samurai, Kiryuu firmly believes in the strength of the Japanese katana. Kiryuu heads to Western America in pursuit of his brother.
Previous games in the series have featured adventure-game elements, but Samurai Western will focus on action. Players work through the game by clearing stages with set clear conditions, with new techniques and enemies carrying weapons such as guns and other weapons of technology.
