Rock Band has finally made it onto Nintendo's handheld with Rock Band 3! Unlike other music games, however, there's no need to plug in any peripherals. All you need is your DS touch screen and your trusty stylus. There may not be any instrument peripherals, but as with any game in the tried and tested rhythm genre, notes will scroll away into the screen and you need to hit them at just the right moment to avoid a dud note. The game's name does involve the word 'band', though, so you'll be able to play vocals, bass, drums and guitar tracks. You'll even be able to do all four on one track, easily switching between them. If you don't want to tackle a song solo you won't have to, though. Multi-card play enables up to four players to jam together, no switching necessary! There are eight different game modes to take on. You can play through the story of your band in the classic career mode, have a thrash at Road Challenges or tackle any number of tasty musical trials. You can even give your band members the right look to match your sound, with over 100 unique togs to style your band! There are tracks spanning five decades of music, with songs from artists such as The White Stripes, The Doors, Smash Mouth, Queen, Paramore, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Roxette, Rilo Kiley and Joan Jett to name just a handful.
