F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch is a metroidvania action game with a dieselpunk setting and a rabbit protagonist with a giant mechanical fist strapped to his back. You're either the sort of person who lights up at that description or you're not - it's not the sort of premise that leaves much middle ground. You play as Rayton, a retired war hero trying to stay out of the way of the oppressive rule of the Iron Dogs of the Machine Legion. When a good friend is kidnapped, however, keeping his head down stops being an option. He straps the arm of the mech he used to pilot to his back and sets out to get his friend back, getting swept up in the resistance in the process. The dusky dieselpunk world of F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch is seamless, offering a wealth of exploration and interesting characters. You can acquire new skills by picking up data discs as you go, and further upgrade Rayton's abilities by adding transformations to your weapons. It all helps with the tough combat and interesting environmental puzzles. You'll need the boost - this is a tough game, but offers plenty of rewards to those with the mettle to see it through.
