Save the world from aliens as only a barista(!?!) can in this side scrolling beat-'em-up from Mad Cat Studios. Coffee Crisis, you'll be pleased (or possibly baffled) to know, originally came out on the SEGA Mega Drive. Not 'originally' as in 'back in the early '90s', though - 'originally' as in '2017'. Yep, the team over at Mega Cat Studios went and developed a game for a console that originally came out in the late 1980s and sold it as a decidedly old school cartridge, which will have delighted the 14 people still looking out for cool new games on their 16 bit consoles. This nugget of information isn't just fun trivia - it actually tells you a lot about the style of the game. In it, you play as baristas Nick and Ashley, the owners of the Black Forge Coffee House and the only two coffee connoisseurs metal enough to see off an extra terrestrial invasion in locations ranging from the streets of Pittsburgh to deep space! It's a Streets of Rage-style brawler that was originally developed to run on a Mega Drive, and it wears those origins on its sleeve with its 16 bit style, furious play style and random power-ups. In true old school style, Coffee Crisis also has couch co-op and a banging heavy metal soundtrack. In fact, it would be 100 per cent '90s if it wasn't for that weird little detail that the heroes are heavy metal hipsters...
