Things are bad for Azura and her pal Galil in The Alliance Alive. Daemons have sealed off continents. They've forced humans to toil under the whips of beastfolk overlords. Plus, they've covered up the sun for a thousands years. It's basically Dark Souls-bleak for these guys. But still, Azura dreams of painting a blue sky. In this JRPG you play from three points of view - Azura and Galil; the Daemoness Vivian, who seeks to observe the humans and Gene, a human servant to the Daemons. Things are ticking over in the manner you'd expect from a linear RPG until (SPOILER WARNING (but really, this is one of the things that makes The Alliance Alive interesting)) 10 hours in... BOOM! A massive confrontation sees the three POVs brought together and suddenly you're in a much more open-ended game. There are realms to explore, machines to fly in and lots of Daemons to be fought. Combat has a couple of twists to it. One is that any character can equip any armour or weapons, but they need to use them in battle to gain skill points. Another is the interesting way you can execute critical attacks and awaken new skills mid-battle, changing the flow of a fight. Also, the configuration you choose can have a huge impact on a battle, and the role a character is assigned can change up the effectiveness of skills. This HD Remastered version takes the original game and upgrades it for modern consoles, making The Alliance more Alive than ever before!
