Gamers of a certain stripe will remember many an afternoon frittered away in the gutters of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo's Asterix comics (or 'bande dessinée' if you want to be fancy about it). The series, about a clever Gaulish warrior and his strong (but not so smart) pal Obelix fighting Romans during the era of Julius Caesar, is internationally beloved for its joyful wit and adventurous spirit. This collection packages together the 'Romastered' version of the original, plus XXL 2 and XXL 3, making for a hefty package of a size that would satisfy even Obelix. Expect loads of wild boar, magic potions, weird and wonderful characters and, of course, lots of Roman legionnaires to punch. Seriously, LOTS of them. The core gameplay hails, predominantly, from the world of beat-'em-ups, but the waves of enemies can be so large that it borders on the Japanese musou genre at times. Toggle between Asterix & Obelix, or bring a pal for some two-player co-op!
