After the band is mysteriously kidnapped during a concert, Wasa B must rescue his friends and uncover the mystery of their capture. The action takes players through eight, colourfully rendered, interactive levels, including a castle, a theme park, a movie set and even a floating city. Players utilise a variety of gas, electric, and rocket powered scooters to navigate through the game levels. Throughout the game, the player collects CD-style icons that add the music tracks to an in-game jukebox which functions as a customisable play list. Trick skills and puzzle-solving are key aspects of the game as players battle crazy boss characters, pull off a variety of tricks, unlock hidden bonus areas, uncover bonus game levels and "mini" games, acquire new scooters, and save captured band members. As they are rescued, band members become playable characters, and introduce new tricks to the player's arsenal. Whirl Tour offers seven different modes, including monster trick, split-screen versus, and a cooperative story mode.
