Based loosely on the forthcoming film of the same name, Viva Rock Vegas is crazy racing game featuring all of your prehistoric favourites. The race is completely illegal, but that doesn't matter. If you want the ultimate prize of the `Boulderball', you'll have to be the first in the race from Bedrock to Rock Vegas, good luck. The idea of the game is sweet and simple, if you come first in any one of the smaller races you win a diamond as a reward. If you can collect enough diamonds you can have them set in a wedding ring for Wilma. Then you can be married in Rock Vegas and go on your romantic honeymoon, hubba hubba. This is fast paced cartoon racer is one of the most visually appealing games to appear on Sony's 128-bit console so far. Naturally, it has great locations and environments, but what makes it shine is its use of textures. The draw distance touches the horizon and pop-up is minimal. This game looks and plays simply beautiful. Additionally, the sound quality matches the aesthetics. Viva Rock Vegas features twelve massive stages for you to race across and each stage has multiple routes. You'll have to spend a few exploratory laps to find out the quickest and most effective routes. There are four different game modes and fifteen crazy Bedrock residents to race as. Add to the racing mix a healthy dose of weapons and you have one zany Ps2 racing game. The icing on the Viva Rock Vegas cake comes in the form of bonus mini-games and the split-screen four-player mode. Definitely one of the best arcade style racing games currently around.
