No More Heroes III PS5

No More Heroes III PS5

After a bit of a detour to make Travis Strikes Again, Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufacture are finally back with a full-blooded No More Heroes game. It's brash, violent and full of swagger - just how series fans like it. The narrative set-up is familiar, albeit in a dialed-up-to-11 sort of way. The game begins with an E.T.-inspired anime sequence about a kid who takes in an adorable alien named Fu after he crash lands on Earth. Before he sends Fu home the kid makes him promise to come back one day. He does, having escaped from intergalactic prison and brought a selection of his fellow alien felons with him to wreak havoc on our little ball of dirt. Enter Travis, armed with his beam katana, to pick off these alien crims one by one and prove himself as the world's greatest assassin. The action is as over-the-top as you remember, smearing aliens across the game's open world with joyful abandon. One new addition to the formula, lifted from Travis Strikes Again, is a Death Glove that can be powered up with three different abilities to add some variety. There's also the option to go 'Full Armor', putting on a mech suit that makes appearances in various shooting minigames. The wheel hasn't been reinvented here, though. No More Heroes III is everything that made you fall in love with the series, multiplied.
